Description At beginning of 1975, CSI required to modify Rindt and Ickx corner, in order to increase safery and reduce speed. This layout was used probably until 1985 (probabbly with a little change maybe between 1982 and 1984, not drawn in my map), even if I don’t have more details. I don’t know if grey section on the map shows a shorter layout or a service road
This circuit become sadly famous bacause of Gilles Villeneuve fatal crash, occurred on May 8th 1982 in section before Terlamenbocht

Zolder
Description At the end of 1985 some changes were proposed in order to improve safety of the circuit and to have Belgium F.1 GP, not before 1987. Proposed changes include an improvement of safety run off areas at Sterrewachtbocht, second Kanaalbocht, Lucien Bianchi, chicane, Bolderbergbocht and Jochen Rindt. The old Sterrewachtbocht should have been used as pit lane exit, while the new corner should have been built inside the old one. Terlamenbocht, sadly famous for Gilles Villeneuve’s fatal accident occurred in 1982, should have been transformed into a chicane because it was too fast and it was not possible to increase run off areas. Finally, chicane Ickx (more marked) and pit entry should have been changed too.

Zolder
Description In 1986 the circuit was really modified: chicane (named after Villeneuve) had a layout slighly different from what shown on my map of 1985 proposal, while I have no info about remaining corners. The track was repaved and run off areas were widened. New curbs, similar to ones at Le Castellet - Paul Ricard, were criticized because they could have damaged the bottom of the cars.
