Autodromo di Cittanova
Description In November 1972 Enzo Ferrari proposed this circuit or replacing the old Aerautodromo. CSAI Sottocommissione Circuiti e Sicurezza (Circuit and Safety Committee) added the mixed section, nicknamed «the bean». Controversies went on for months. In Spring 1974 this proposal was canceled for good and it fall back on a proving ground (I have no map), but even on this new proposal there were many controversies. In Summer 1974 final step occurred: Modena Town Council decided to divide the area where the track should have been built and to assign it for industries and handicraft.

Autodromo di Cittanova
Description Since beginning of 1970s (or even late 1960s) there was a proposal for replace the old Aerautodromo with a new permanent racing circuit located at Marzaglia, near Modena. Discussions and controversies went on for several years; aerautodromo was closed and this proposal was abandoned and forgotten for many years.
In April 2003 and then during Modena Terra di Motori exhibition a new proving ground for normal car has been proposed in the same area. Besides a normal circuit 2.35 km long and at least 12 m wide, 7 more specialized test tracks were proposed

Description Original proposal was slightly modified: specialized tracks now are 6 rather than 7, external circuit is shorter and needed area is smaller. This proposal doesn’t provide to cut down the wood at the end of straight opposite to the box (see links)

Description The more recent version of this proposal is dated November 2004: the most important change is modification of the bend after the straight opposite to boxes (bottom left on my map), moved in an area where now a wood is growing. The latest should be cut down. As in previous proposal, track is 5 meters below ground level of surrounding fields, because it will be in a gravel quary that is nearly worn-out. This proposal has been approved by Modena Town Council: now the builder must begin to build within 2007. In this period (February 2005) there are hard controversies between people for and against the track, so something more could happen. If it is built, it will host only tests and it won’t have any facility for races and spectators. According to somebody, track layout is little interesting for local car manufacturers (Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati), so the cirucit will be used only by driving schools, cars and motorbikes private drivers and for meetings. Moreover, ecologists ask strong limitation to noise and to have no more than 10 cars on the track in the same moment.
