PRIEVIDZA, CIGELSKY OKRUH |
Description |
This was probably the most exciting Slovak track, with woods, drops, fast corners, level crossing (with railways to mines), passage through a village and a bridge, where a fatal accident occurred in 1972. Surface was mixed, with asphalt, bricks and concrete sections. At first it was used for local races, but quickly it grown up and it hosted international motorcycle races and CzechoSlovak F.3. Cars had their last event in 1969, when one driver crashed after the finish and injured 32 spectators. The track was closed after 1972, both for fatal accident just mentioned, and because there was mine machinery in the way. |
