HUN - HUNGARY
HUNGARORING
SORRY, SOME DATA ARE NOT TRANSLATED YET
Description Since 1974 15 circuit were proposed (permanent and street ones), but none of them was never developed. Finally, at the end of 1985 construction of the first Hungarian permanent circuit begun. During the construction, it was named Szilasliget; later, probably just befort the inauguration, it was named Hungaroring. I know that during the construction two water tables were discovered and they had to modify the layout of the circuit. Actually my map shows a layout slightly different to the one really built: probably it shows the layout 3890 m long before tables were discovered, while 4013 m layout is the final one. However, it’s an hypotesis, ad my sources are quite conflicting.
The circuit was inauguared with Hungary F.1 GP, raced on August 10th 1986.
