ESTORIL
SORRY, SOME DATA ARE NOT TRANSLATED YET
Not to be confused with Estoril (urbano)
Description Permanent road circuit, owned by Autodril company. First inauguration should have been on September 1971, but it was delayed to 1972. In Summer 1984 many works were done in order to host F.1 GP, but without changing track layout. Nevertheless in 1984 maps published by all magazines were changed, so probably before they were wrong.

Estoril Autodril

Original proposal
Description Autosprint on September 1971 wrote that a circuit named Autodril was under construction. Its inauguration should have been at beginning of 1972 and it should have been used for tests and races. They also thought to ask for a F.1 GP to be raced in 1974.

Estoril
Description In 1984 Autodril (company owner of the track) decided to ask for a F.1 GP to be scheduled on following years (1985 or 1986) and it begun to renovate the circuit. In May 1984 Spain GP at Fuengirola was canceled and replaced by Portugal GP; scheduled on October 21st of the same year. In Summer many works were made, because circuit was in bad conditions. The track was reasphalted, and safety run-off areas, pit entry, boxes and padock were remade.
It’s curious to note that track layout wasn’t modified, but maps published by all magazines were changed, so probably before 1984 they were wrong.

Description Project by Tilke Corporation, required by FIA. The Senna Parabolica should have been moved a lot nearer the start-finish line. I think its radius should have also reduced, but I am not sure. Similar to 2000 layout
