Description At Pian del Lago (= Plain of Lake) there was an old military airfield fallen into disuse for 25 years (so probably it was used only during the war), approx 42 hectares wide. In 1967 a circuit was proposed and it should have been built with private funds, but because of some problems related to sale and destination of this field in 1970 nothing was decided yet. If the situazione cleared, it would have been possible to built and inaugurate the circuit in 1971 and it would have been an important track in Tuscany, after flops of two proposals at Tirrenia and Mugello (in 1970 it seemed that this proposal was abandoned too)
