CANDIA CANAVESE
Description During First Exhibition of Racing Cars, held from February 26th to March 6th, 1966 at Museo dell’Automobile in Turin, local Scuderia Nord Ovest (= Nirth West Team) presented a plastic model of a circuit drawn by its secretary, surveyor Francesco Cosentino. Like at Pergusa (Enna), the circuit is around Candia Lake. The proposal foresaw two different layouts, with and without three chicanes. Pits were suitable for 60 cars; tribunes and all facilities for 20000 spectators. The final cost should have been approx 1000 millions Italian Lire of that time (516.500 Euro of that time), required to ACI (Italian Automobil Club), AC Torino (Turin Automobil Club), CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee) and FMI (Italian Motorcycle Federation).
At the end of 1967 this proposal was shelved.
