Monza, Autodromo Nazionale
Description Original proposal of Monza circuit. Works for build it begun on February 26th 1922, but they were suspended after two days because of "reason of its artistic and monumental value and landscape saving". After long discussions, in the middle of April this proposal was approved but under impossible conditions. A new proposal for a 10 km circuit (blue on the map) was made in two weeks and in the middle of May finally works begun again. After 100 days only, on Augst 20th, a car did the first test of the track and on September 10th first Grand Prix was raced.

Monza, Autodromo Nazionale
Description Abandoned project for a new oval track (without banking) to be used for an Indycar race in 1995.<br />

Main straight, Curva Parabolica, opposite straight. Until today (July 20th 2003) I wrote that circuit should have used the old Curva Pirelli or del Raccordo modified to 180°, but such a trach should 4,15 km long, much more than 3,2 km of this proposal. If I consider to use the first section of curva Nord Alta Velocità the track is 3.2 km long, so I think that this should have been the proposal. In that bit of the track, my map is quite approximated.<br />

In primo piano: il vecchio ingresso della pista Junior, ora usato per i trattori di servizio; dietro il guard rail l'attuale ingresso della pista Junior. Sullo sfondo: a sinistra delle reti: la pista Gran Premio; a destra l'ingresso della pista Alta Velocità Circuito Pirelli: Inizio del circuito, costruito nel 1938 e usato (poco) solo per test. Il senso di percorrenza dello stradale era verso il fotografo. Lo striscione Nissan è sul circuito da Gran Premio, all'entrata della curva Biassono. Circuito Pirelli: A metà curva. Il fondo è in piastrelle di cemento (ricavate dalla demolizione del vecchio anello alta velocità nel 1938): il circuito una volta era tutto così. Circuito Pirelli: Fine della curva Circuito Pirelli: Il rettilineo opposto visto dal ponte del circuito Alta Velocità. Circuito Pirelli: Come foto 7, ma in direzione contraria. Sullo sfondo si vede fra gli alberi il ponte della pista Alta Velocità; il circuito stradale scende in un sottopasso.

Circuito Pirelli: Come foto 8, ma in direzione contraria. Sullo sfondo le tribune della Variante Ascari. Pista Alta Velocità: Prima chicane, costruita nel 1966. È un grande piazzale, la variante era delimitata da gomme o simili. Ora è occupata dalle tribune della prima variante del circuito GP e da materiale abbandonato. Pista Alta Velocità: Parte iniziale del circuito (curva Nord Alta Velocità), occupato dalle tribune del circuito GP Pista Alta Velocità: Come foto 11, ma in direzione opposta.

Pista Alta Velocità: Curva Sud Alta Velocità Pista Alta Velocità: Curva Sud Alta Velocità, appena prima del rettilineo principale Rettilineo del Vialone. Era il rettilineo opposto ai box fino al 1938? Questo potrebbe essere l'inizio del breve rettilineo tra le due curve Vedano (o curve in Porfido) usate dal 1938 al 1954.
