Long Beach
Description In 1982 some sections of the old track were not anymore available, because they were used for build new buildings. Sections in front of pits, on Ocean Boulevard, was unchanged. Straight on Shoreline Drive was broken by a right - left - right chicane, more or less ad one third of its length. According to some malices, it was made in order to favour atmospheric engines on turbo. It’s already scheduled to move back pits on Shoreline Drive on 1983. As it happened from 1978, probably start line was on Shoreline Drive (not shown on my map)

Long Beach
Description Start line and first 4 corners were unchanged in comparison with 1982 layout. From Corner 5 new section begun: the track went to Pine Avenue, then turned left (corner 6) and went through new Hyatt Hotel garage. After corners 7 and 8, circuit went on Seaside Way through Convention Center subway toward corner 9, where the new circuit join the old one. Hairpin 11 was probably brought backwards. Corner 12 was modified (even if it’s not shown on the map), in order to make pit lane entry.
