Description | Street circuit. In 1970 there was a proposal for changing direction, from clockwise to anticlockwise, because pits are just after a quick bend; I don’t think this was ever done. On June 25th 1971 the circuit was temporary closed because some requirements made by CSI and GPDA were not fulfilled. They were made after some severe accident occurred, among them a fatal one during a Formula V race. Dangerousness of the circuit is due to high barrier, so that low cars fitted under them, with a great danger for drivers. Moreover, main straight was so dangerous that they proposed to change direction from right to left (but I don’t know in regards to what and I don’t think it was changed). Once the track was opened, CSI sanction provide for a block of all international activities for 60 days, so 1971 season was virtually ended in June. I don’t know when the track was reopened and what changes were made. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
