In his history he changed official name several times: Republic of Congo (unofficially Congo-Léopoldville) from 1960 to 1966, Democratic Republic of Congo from 196 to 1971, Republic of Zaïre from 1971 to 1997, when it is was finally named again Democratic Republic of the Congo. |
